Response to Aggression Instructor

This 40-hour Response to Aggression Instructor Course is an all-inclusive program that includes a practical approach to modern street officer defense, which is based on what officers are currently experiencing on the streets. Law enforcement-based response to aggression instructor program for both standing and ground defense and control that includes handcuffing training, baton training, and grappling. We’ve kept the techniques and concepts in this system both simple and effective so that officers have an increased opportunity for success. This isn’t an outdated pressure point wrist lock-based system that isn’t practical and seldom works when attempted in the field. Proven police trainers constructed this system with the street officer in mind based on years of patrol experience with current police policies taken into consideration. This system provides both standing and ground defense concepts that are seldom found in other law enforcement systems that are often taught by civilian trainers that have never been in a police uniform. The program provides you with our award-winning teaching methodologies that are proven to increase interest in training. Missouri POST has also approved our program, and the Eastern Missouri Police Academy in St. Charles, MO has adopted our system to be taught to each police cadet entering the police academy. Our system comes with a free illustrated instruction manual for each graduate instructor of the program, We also offer our student manual that is available for purchase to each graduating instructor’s students in their agency. This modern tactics system includes a two-year certification with both phone and email support and comes with free courtroom testimony for any current instructor of our program. Cancellation Policy

The course cancellation policy requires a minimum of a 15-day prior notice from the course start date when a student will not be attending the course. The notification to not attend will be made by email through our website, and if they identify no replacement student, cancellations with less than a 15-day notice will cause a department credit that can be used towards another future training event within one year from the original course date. We will charge no-shows without email notification the full course fee, even if the payment has not already been made. We offer a one-year future course credit as well for any no show that is charged a full course fee. This policy is in effect as of June 23, 2021, and you as a representative of your agency agree to abide by this policy by registering for any course. Please contact us by email or phone if you have questions about this cancellation policy. This policy is in place because of students that register for courses and take training slots without attending training, which removes the opportunity for another officer to attend. We pay the instructors teaching these programs based on the number of officers scheduled to attend the event, and we base our travel cost including instructor pay on registration fees. This policy is considered a binding contract between BSTS LLC and the student or student agency or company.

I do not have a background in ground fighting or wrestling. This course was full of common sense and very informative. The instructor didn’t talk over my head and he was able to explain the techniques in simple ways that made sense to me. This course is broken down into simple techniques that build off each other starting on day one, including improving your own mindset. Ray challenges the class on Use of Force options and opens your thoughts on different options. This class provides it all: education, confidence, training, and bumps and bruises! Great class and thank you for the skillset Ray! I’m excited to share the techniques and mindset with the rest of our agency.

What an amazing class! This class will replace the current “arrest and control” class for our regional academy. Very simple techniques that will go a long way and make a world of difference in LE Response to aggression. Highly recommend this class to any use of force instructor. Great system to base your class around.

  13. Aaron Huddleston

This is a great course for Law Enforcement. This is a complete system that works in the real world. It does not involve complex movements or techniques. It utilizes low risk high reward moves that benefits the officer. Ray is a phenomenal instructor. He explains the movements in detail and breaks them down. Through out the course Ray is continuously explaining principles and concepts about both the system and use of force. Ray’s passion about combatives and the need for improvement in the LE community is what helps drive home the importance of this course. Ray does a great job of not only teaching you the techniques but also how to teach them. I highly recommend this course for any department looking to for a better system to implement in their defensive tactics. This gives a new perspective on what the purpose of combatives in the LE profession is for and how to utilize them in the real world.

  14. Aaron Porras
