Description

This course was designed to teach tactics concerning scenario-based training that will improve the overall training experience for any officer. This information can be implemented with an existing tactics program that will take the officer's capability to the next level. We go into detail not only about how to interact with the students but as well as how to design scenarios so they are functionally realistic. We focus on the safety points of teaching this type of training to reduce liability for the department and instructor. You don’t need a horde of expensive equipment to be able to provide this type of training, but rather the right tools to build a positive training involvement for the officers in your agency. The instructors attending this training will return with not only an in-depth understanding of how to structure scenario-based training but also with several scenarios already built by their class that will allow them to immediately implement training. The knowledge learned in this course will improve you as an instructor and give you a better understanding of what it takes to have a positive training environment within your department that will save lives and reduce liability.

Cancellation Policy

The course cancellation policy requires a minimum of a 15-day prior notice from the course start date when a student will not be attending the course. The notification to not attend will be made by email through our website, and if they identify no replacement student, cancellations with less than a 15-day notice will cause a department credit that can be used towards another future training event within one year from the original course date. We will charge no-shows without email notification the full course fee, even if the payment has not already been made. We offer a one-year future course credit as well for any no show that is charged a full course fee. This policy is in effect as of June 23, 2021, and you as a representative of your agency agree to abide by this policy by registering for any course. Please contact us by email or phone if you have questions about this cancellation policy. This policy is in place because of students that register for courses and take training slots without attending training, which removes the opportunity for another officer to attend. We pay the instructors teaching these programs based on the number of officers scheduled to attend the event, and we base our travel cost including instructor pay on registration fees. This policy is considered a binding contract between BSTS LLC and the student or student agency or company.

    A lot of great information was learned throughout the 3 day course. The course consisted of more training scenarios and less PowerPoint which is great. The scenarios that were created by the class will come in great use to train people in my department.

    I attended the Tactics Based Scenario Instructor course hosted by Weld County Sheriffs Office with Ray and Rob as our instructors. This course is awesome, definitely brings how to build good solid scenarios full circle with everything else you may already be doing within your Agency. Both Ray and Rob bring a wealth of knowledge to the table, their teaching methodology will keep you engaged as well as on your toes. Being able to create solid scenarios for our Officers to learn is priceless and I highly recommend attending this course to broaden your perspective and skillset on scenarios.
