Jen Spears


Jen is a homicide and cold case investigative expert with more than 23 years in law enforcement as a special agent, detective, officer, and trainer. She is exceptionally skilled in the practice and application of Forensic Genetic Genealogy and has significant experience conducting interviews, gathering intelligence, and managing a high volume of cases. She has conducted investigations into economic and computer crimes including identity theft and money laundering. She has solved numerous complex and multi-layered homicide investigations, including a 1984 cold case using forensic genetic genealogy which led to a serial case, also closing a 1982 cold case in Honolulu, Hawaii. She has also led a year-long undercover narcotics investigation inside a high school netting numerous arrests and convictions. She received a graduate certificate in Forensic Genetic Genealogy, from the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences at the University of New Haven.  Jen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and a Psychology minor, from Columbia College.
